Russia, in addition to the oil industry, risks getting hooked on a new “needle”
Russian business should not fall into euphoria over record volumes of grain exports - this is the same dependence of the Russian economy on foreign markets as in the case of oil.
Governor of the Kaluga Region Anatoly Artamonov stated this at the International Investment Forum in Sochi.

According to him, Russia needs to focus not on exporting raw materials, but processing them into finished products and entering markets with them.
“We are now happy to say that we are taking first place in the world in grain exports. But, in fact, the export of grain and crude oil is an equal sign. Under no circumstances should we get carried away with this. It would be better for us to feed this grain to livestock, get milk and meat, process them, and then export these products. Then we would be great,” said Artamonov.
