This was reported by the press service of the Russian department.
“From the frank calls of the candidate for the post of President of Romania to “achieve a second great unification by 2018,” it clearly follows that certain political circles in Bucharest still harbor annexationist plans regarding the neighboring sovereign neutral country,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
“We consider it irresponsible and unacceptable to replicate such statements from the outside in the context of the ongoing election campaign in the Republic of Moldova. We expect that the authorities in Chisinau will give them an adequate assessment. We also hope that an appropriate reaction should follow from Brussels and other European capitals,” Moscow is convinced.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Victor Ponta, during a meeting with activists of the Social Democratic Party, allowed himself to make statements about his goal as a presidential candidate to unite Romania and Moldova in one state by 2018.
