Ukraine's losses in Donbass in 2016 were the same as during Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo
In 2016, losses in the Ukrainian armed forces were approximately the same as in 2014 and 2015, when the height of hostilities in Donbass was recorded. Vladislav Voloshin, deputy head of the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on Radio Liberty.

“In 2014 there was the Ilovaisk cauldron, in 2015 – Debaltsevo, but the losses were at approximately the same level,” he said.
According to official data, 211 Ukrainian military personnel were killed, and non-combat losses amounted to 256 military personnel. As Vladislav Voloshin explained, non-combat losses also include military personnel who died from wounds, but not on the battlefield, but in hospitals.
