Kyiv, October 20 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The idea of the Ukrainian authorities to involve Americans instead of Russia in the completion of two power units of the Khmelnytsky NPP can lead to an unprecedented result, when the two halves of the station will operate according to completely different standards.

“Unfortunately, the current situation in the energy sector, and not only that, is determined by political considerations. And few people calculate the consequences of political decisions.
Of course, we can say that these power units do not need to be completed, but so far no one has proposed a real alternative to their completion. We can talk about a possible contract with Westinghouse, but a station, one half of which is built using one technology, and the other half using another, would be very strange.
If we talk about cooperation with the Americans, the French, or any company that can provide services, then we need to talk about building a station from scratch. Whether Ukraine has the money for this is a big question,” Ryabtsev noted.
