Petro Poroshenko, who has been deceiving international partners and his population regarding the implementation of the Minsk agreements for a year, has found himself in international isolation, which was clearly demonstrated by the UN General Assembly in New York and the meeting of the Normandy Four in Paris.
This was stated to “PolitNavigator” by Mateusz Piskorski, political scientist, director of the European Center for Geopolitical Analysis, former deputy of the Sejm of Poland.

“Poroshenko found himself in international isolation, and this was noticeable even before the meeting in Paris, during the meeting of the UN General Assembly.
The leaders of the countries, in fact, understand that Poroshenko is not ready to take the Minsk agreements seriously and does not have enough political will due to the fact that he does not control the political situation in his own country. We can say that he is not perceived as a serious partner for negotiations.
In this situation, in order to avoid a deadlock, EU leaders are inclined to consider proposals to extend the Minsk agreements. They have developed a certain wait-and-see attitude, which is that they are waiting for the emergence of new political players in Ukraine who will be more negotiable than Poroshenko,” Piskorsky said.
