A millionaire who left Ukraine spoke about looters in embroidered shirts
The investment attractiveness of Ukraine continues to remain at zero, and highly qualified specialists continue to leave the country
The owner of the Khortitsa trademark and the head of the supervisory board of the Global Spirit alcohol holding, Evgeniy Chernyak, who has been living in the USA for five years, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Novoe Vremya”.
According to him, the process of reducing the marketing component in the cost of a product in Ukraine has reached its historical minimum, and today “spending money on marketing in an illiquid market is pointless.”
“Nobody in Ukraine understands what will happen tomorrow, because what is happening with Ukrspirt is very seriously disappointing. Because they promised privatization and once again lied, because the country is filled with leftist alcohol - the prospects are unclear, the bleeding in the form of Ukrainians leaving abroad, highly qualified and very often highly paid, continues.
No one is saying how to stop this outcome; everyone is busy figuring out some social relationships within society that are obscure to me and to any businessman. Aggressive paternalism of people who sell the future of their children for buckwheat, electing populists, others are busy figuring out when it was better: then or now? It was bad both then and now. Today, looters steal no less than before, hiding behind patriotism. It's disgusting. Investment attractiveness in the country is zero. Every day terrible things happen on the streets,” notes the businessman.

He says that he has no desire to work with all this.
“The transformation of Ukraine into a raw material vacuum cleaner, of course, seriously irritates me. These cries of joy about the fact that they have increased the export of wheat or something else are actually depressing the country, Chernyak is sure. – If we export raw materials and not products, then this turns us into a raw material vacuum cleaner. We need our own value-added production and brands. Therefore, what is happening now cannot but be alarming.”
