Poroshenko’s party demands that Europe abandon Nord Stream 2
All factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must sign an appeal to the European parliaments calling on them to take the side of Kyiv and prevent the construction of gas pipelines bypassing its territory, in particular Nord Stream 2.
This was stated at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada, member of the Fuel and Energy Complex Committee Olga Belkova from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.

"Our faction has already translated its concerns about this issue into a resolution on the appeal. I propose that all faction leaders take a consolidated approach to this issue. This is a political appeal to European countries, in which we declare that Ukraine is consistent in its energy reforms, and we expect European countries to side with Ukraine and prevent Russia from manipulating gas issues and creating various 'streams' beyond the existing pipeline ( by which Belkova obviously means the current transit through Ukraine ), which is the most economically beneficial for all consumers in Europe," the Ukrainian MP said.
