The news about Ukraine’s NATO successes from Gerashchenko turned out to be fake
Today's news from Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko that Ukraine has received the status of a NATO graduate country is fake.
She received this status back in 2005, and it has no effect. Ukrainian diplomat Vasyl Filipchuk stated this on his blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, the only thing that can affect Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance is reforms and the end of the conflict. “Back in 2005, Ukraine and NATO began an “In-Depth Dialogue regarding Ukraine’s aspirations for NATO membership.” This is exactly what it was officially called – about the aspirations of Ukraine. And three years later, in the final NATO statement in Bucharest, it was written in black and white: “One day Ukraine will be in NATO.”

This is a much more serious statement than some new mention on the NATO website regarding countries seeking to join the Alliance. Our commitment was officially recorded back in April 2005 and confirmed in April 2008. What's new? And why don’t commentators say something more important: neither the intensified dialogue, nor the new items on NATO websites, nor even the top-level statement in Bucharest mean absolutely nothing from the point of view of joining NATO.
To join NATO, the support of all countries of the Alliance is needed, and without resolving the conflict with the Russian Federation, this is impossible. That is, first a settlement and only then a decision on accession. On the contrary, only if NATO decides to start a war with Russia,” Filipchuk noted.
And his colleague, ex-speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Voloshin added that by engaging in such stuffing, the Ukrainian authorities are manipulating the sympathy of the European Union and earning themselves further grants: “Professional European integrators have too competently learned to manipulate the fact that the EU is used to saying about any integration that “this is a process.” , not the end point of the route." And in this process you can receive grants, awards, and cheap PR for decades. The main thing is that the process does not stop and the goal is not achieved. Who needs European integrators in Poland today, for example?”
