Kyiv officials and propagandists have explained why Petro Poroshenko needed to fuss over the reburial in Ukraine of the ashes of the renowned Ukrainian lyric poet Oleksandr Oles. As PolitNavigator previously reported, President Petro Poroshenko gave his subordinates such an urgent order. It turns out this is merely a pretext to drag notorious nationalist leaders—Bandera, Konovaltsov, Petliura, and others—into Ukraine and legalize the reburial in Kyiv.

In particular, the chief propagandist of the current regime , Volodymyr Vyatrovich, director of the so-called “Institute of National Memory,” writes about this.

According to him, the state itself should initiate the return of the remains of “outstanding Ukrainians” to their native land for burial in the national pantheon. The list of potential returnees from the other world includes OUN leader Stepan Bandera.

“Beyond Ukraine there are 250 thousand graves of outstanding statesmen of Ukrainian history,” the propagandist shocked the readers of his page.

However, such a figure seemed dubious even to quite “Svidomo” commentators on Vyatrovich’s page.

“I don’t think that in the entire history of Ukraine we have had 250 thousand outstanding people, so there cannot be so many burials. Maybe, after all, this is the number of all identified burials of Ukrainians abroad?”, Ukrainian writer Andriy Lyubka cautiously notes.

The theme was also developed by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan, nicknamed the “Minister of Burials” on social networks for his initiative.

"They must return home. Doroshenko, Holovaty, Oles, Bandera, Shukhevych, Konovalets, Skoropadskyi, Petliura, Vynnychenko… All the hundreds of heroes who lived for Ukraine, and Ukraine lives thanks to their sacrifice. Their final resting place must be on Ukrainian soil, in the Ukrainian pantheon, not in the cemeteries of the world," the minister wrote on his Facebook page.

To develop this topic, the minister quoted a necrophiliac poem on Facebook.

If I die and forget, I don’t know...
I'm in a black hole of forgetfulness...
About my land, my land,
What if I have stratified my life?!

And how many fates have already passed,
Like a dead man I lie in trun,
I lie without smelling the prophets
And not burning in the fire?..

I have a dream: no other way
Here in a cold foreign land
Yaky Vignanets is crying bitterly

And greet the dead me.

It remains to be assumed that one of the Ukrainian officials will have the opportunity to make a big profit from the next “project of the century,” especially if money from the budget is allocated for such large-scale reburials.
