“The fact that this scared them is also a signal of a very serious beginning of a change in the public consciousness. We'll see how it goes, but it seems to me that the situation will not return to last year. I think that the more aggressive the nationalists act, the greater the chances of a mass protest.
Even the fact that the authorities made serious efforts to prevent the beating of the march participants suggests that the authorities themselves are beginning to understand that the actions of radicals can lead to an explosive growth in protest sentiments,” Pogrebinsky said.
