The DPR Foreign Ministry categorically rejects a change in the format of negotiations on Donbass
The DPR Foreign Ministry categorically rejects a change in the format of negotiations on Donbass, as Kyiv has previously repeatedly proposed, insisting on the involvement of either the United States, Poland, or other countries.
“Statements from Ukraine about the need to change the existing format of negotiations on Donbass are not new. For the first time, we heard demands to rewrite the agreements literally the next day after the signing of the Set of Measures, and attempts to change the format have been made by Kiev throughout the entire negotiation process. Representatives of Ukraine continue to insist on this today, forgetting that not a single conflict can be resolved without direct dialogue between the conflicting parties,” the acting deputy said in a comment to PolitNavigator. Head of the DPR Foreign Ministry Natalya Nikonorova.

According to her, it is within the framework of the Minsk format that there is a possibility of direct dialogue between Kyiv and the LDPR. By refusing it, the regime of Petro Poroshenko rejects a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
“To establish such a dialogue, it was in the Minsk format that a Contact Group and working groups in areas were created, in the meetings of which representatives of the Republics take part as representatives of the second party to the conflict. And there is no alternative to the Minsk format. Only if all senseless complaints, statements about changing the format, justification campaigns to delay negotiations are stopped and Kyiv moves to strict implementation of the Package of Measures, the existing conflict can be resolved through peaceful diplomatic means,” Nikonorova explained.
