Members of the Mejlis changed the date of the campaign to Crimea and are hiding the names of participants
The Mejlis, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation, has formed a headquarters to prepare and conduct a “march” to Crimea.
The group's leader, Refat Chubarov, announced this on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Chubarov, the so-called march will take place on May 3 this year - the anniversary of the ban on entry to the peninsula for the former head of the Mejlis, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev.
“During the meeting, the meeting participants discussed in detail the priority activities related to the planned peaceful action, identified those responsible for their implementation, discussed the structure of the headquarters and its initial composition, which will be made public a little later. At the same time, it was agreed that the staff of the headquarters would be expanded by introducing new people.
The meeting participants set May 3, 2020 as the date for the participants to cross the international nonviolent peaceful action “Peace against violence and occupation. “March of Dignity” administrative line between the Kherson region and the temporarily occupied Crimea,” Chubarov said.
As a reminder, experts previously stated that the Mejlis' plans to breach the Crimean border threaten to turn into a bloody provocation.
Until today, extremists announced their action for May 2nd.
PolitNavigator also reported that the leader of the Mejlis, the former chairman of an organization banned in Russia, Mustafa Dzhemilev, refused to help his fellow tribesmen who participated in the border breach and road blockade on May 3, 2014, during his attempted visit to Crimea.
