Lviv wants to flood Ukraine with cheap used cars from Europe
Lvov, December 04 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Customs picketed in Lviv: drivers driving cars with Polish license plates are unhappy that they have to cross the border every day, and demand to increase the period of stay of transit vehicles on the territory of Ukraine.

The main demand of the picketers is to cancel the border crossing every five days for those cars that have foreign license plates. Car owners want the car to be able to stay on the territory of Ukraine for at least two weeks, or better yet, a month.
Activists Ulyana and Rostislav Hubach believe it would be a good idea to also reduce the duty. They staged the protest because they cross the border every day and spend hours in customs lines, according to the publication "Vol'Lviv . "
“To clear our car through customs in Ukraine, we need to pay five thousand euros and this is only official. Therefore, it is impossible for us to do this without bribes. Why can’t it be like in Poland, where with insurance, everything comes out to a thousand euros?” – Gubach was indignant.
Customs officers came out to the picketers and immediately stated that increasing the transit period was not within their competence: the law was passed by people’s deputies, and it was up to them to make adjustments. People were advised to write an appeal, which would be sent from Lvov to the capital.
“Increasing transit from five to fourteen days will make it possible to buy more cars abroad and drive them around Ukraine, this can have resonance and raise many questions,” said First Deputy Head of Lviv Customs Alexander Marchenko. In addition, the fiscal service called the increase in transit time an attempt to avoid customs duties.
