This was discussed at the round table held in Kyiv “Brexit: what should be Ukraine’s strategy?” said Roman Shpek, member of the supervisory board of the Institute of World Politics, permanent representative of Ukraine to the European Union (2000-2008).
“We must be honest: there was also British interest in Ukraine’s membership in the EU. They say that Great Britain has no friends, but permanent interests. Why did they support Ukraine's membership in the EU? Because it is in Britain’s interests to have a larger and less governable European Union,” Speck said.
