Crimean doctors received high awards for helping Donbass
Crimean medical workers who participated in organizing medical care in Donbass hospitals will be nominated for an award.
This initiative was supported by the relevant committee of the State Council of Crimea, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
A petition to award 28 doctors with medals “For Courage and Valor” was submitted by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“This state award is usually awarded to the military for outstanding services and heroism,” said Anna Rubel, head of the parliamentary committee. “But the work of our doctors on the front-line territory is worthy of being recognized with such high awards.”
A team of 28 Crimean doctors went in May to provide assistance in hospitals in Dokuchaevsk and Mariupol. Crimean specialists were organizing the work of the surgical service and emergency department.
The doctors had to work in difficult military field conditions - there was a shortage of water in the hospital, systematic power outages, and the medical facility itself was in a dilapidated state. Crimean doctors slept directly in the hospital building in sleeping bags.
Nevertheless, they provided assistance around the clock to citizens who spent a long time in basements and shelters. Most of them have purulent and infected wounds, some have not received vital medications for a long time.
