Kyiv court fined Zelensky
Kyiv's Obolonsky District Court fined newly elected President Volodymyr Zelenskyy 850 hryvnias for displaying a ballot during the second round of elections on April 21, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding decision was made by judge Vladislav Devyatko.
Zelensky will also be charged a court fee of 384 UAH 40 kopecks.
The decision can be appealed within 10 days from the date of its adoption. It will come into force upon expiration of the period for filing an appeal.
The defense demanded that the case be closed due to the lack of evidence of an offense, although Zelensky himself admitted guilt and signed the administrative protocol drawn up against him on April 21.
By demonstrating the ballot, Zelensky violated Article 212-10 of the electoral law - violation of restrictions on campaigning at the time of elections.
