5 thousand Avakovites will join the gay pride parade in Kyiv
The so-called "Equality March"—a march of people of non-traditional sexual orientation in Kyiv, scheduled for June 17—will be guarded by approximately 5,000 police officers. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhiy Yarovyi at a briefing in Kyiv, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, special forces units and investigative teams will also be involved.
“The expected number of people who will take part is about five thousand. Of course, the corresponding number of law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be about five thousand. And directly, who will ensure law and order during the march - we will already be determined based on the situation that will develop - which group, which category, which units of the National Police we will involve in order to quickly respond to all emergency situations that may arise. Of course, we provide reserves, special forces and investigative teams,” Yarovoy said.
Earlier, Ukrainian nationalists called for preventing the gay pride parade, declaring their intention to hold their counter-protest in the center of Kyiv.
