Kyiv, February 02 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Following Greece, where the SYRIZA party won, noting a number of pro-Russian statements, Spain may strike the EU’s anti-Russian front.
At a press conference in Kyiv, PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Yevhen Zolotarev, head of the Ukrainian analytical center "Third Sector," did not rule out such a development .

He noted that the left-wing Spanish party Podemos, led by charismatic leader Pablo Iglesias, is leading in opinion polls with 28 percent.
“In real political life, he is something between Lyashko and Zhirinovsky,” a Ukrainian expert characterizes the leader of the Spanish left. – He may throw a glass of water over his heated interlocutor or troll the interviewer, but nevertheless, this politician has become popular in two years on all possible political talk shows. A kind of political prodigy who has recipes for everything, including the problem of treating hepatitis C through the nationalization of a chain of pharmacies.”
The political scientist does not rule out that in the upcoming parliamentary elections this year, Podemos, which opposes anti-Russian sanctions and is called “pro-Putin” by its opponents, will be among the favorites.
“Taking into account the fact that all decisions in the EU countries are made by consensus, it is not difficult to guess what problems will arise in terms of expanding sanctions against Russia,” emphasizes Andrei Zolotarev. “This means that the EU will face colossal internal problems, including the strengthening of centrifugal forces within the EU, the conflict between the rich North and the poor South. And who knows whether the scale and severity of these problems will outweigh the problems on the eastern borders of the EU, which could have the most detrimental effect on Ukraine’s political positions.”
