“Important information was heard in the media about possible corruption ties of former State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov, who was killed in Kyiv. We cannot ignore the accusations made against the former State Duma deputy. Moreover, there was an accusation that these corruption ties were with the leadership of the Moscow prosecutor’s office,” said Andrei Isaev, first deputy leader of the United Russia faction.

The Communist Party faction, of which the late Voronenkov was a member, opposed the adoption of the order.

“Everyone understands perfectly well that this draft instruction is directed against a member of our faction, Yuri Petrovich Sinelshchikov. He was then the first deputy prosecutor of the city of Moscow. This is a very ill-considered and very reckless step, but the result will be disappointing for the authors of this project,” said the first deputy chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction, Sergei Reshulsky.

In the “News of the Week” program dated April 2, 2017 on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, it was said that Denis Voronenkov provided patronage to businessman Evgeny Trostentsov for $10 thousand a month. In 2001, an entrepreneur wrote a statement to the regional department for combating organized crime (RUBOP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation about extorting large amounts of money from him. After the next transfer of money, Denis Voronenkov was detained. Then Voronenkov allegedly used his corrupt connections in the Moscow prosecutor's office, which closed the case against him.
