Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The “Marshall Plan” came down to a presentation for European ambassadors in the Baltics. Some Baltic states, on the one hand, are trying to use it to supposedly strengthen their image in the international arena,” the expert said.
However, he did not rule out that the presentation could be a request from the Ukrainian leadership, which is trying to “come up with a new carrot against the backdrop of the failed results of the association agreement with the EU and a new myth that should lead to the re-election of the current government.”
“So far we see that the topic has failed. European Commissioner Khan frankly said that there will be no “Marshall Plan”; moreover, now we are not talking about money - now we are talking about reports for previously allocated money. But in any case, this idea will be one of the most interesting topics for historians when they study this period,” Bortnik said ironically.
