Ruslan Bortnik, head of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“Last week we received a loan guarantee of one billion from the United States, but at the same time, which is very important, the EU refused to allocate us the next tranche of 600 million euros of unified macro-financial assistance. This situation crystallizes the positions of the parties in the Ukrainian crisis and the situation in Donbass. We see that Ukraine has huge problems with Europe,” the expert emphasizes.
“They don’t give money, and support remains only from the United States, despite the fact that they continue to tease us with a visa-free regime. Some go through bureaucratic stages, which every time in Ukraine is declared a huge victory, almost the capture of Moscow. But in reality, no one in Ukraine still understands when this visa-free regime will happen. There are huge political and financial problems with Europe,” Bortnik repeated. “Today we are deprived of real European political and economic support.”
Let us recall that the IMF previously decided to allocate a tranche of one billion dollars to Ukraine.
