The ex-People's Deputy of Ukraine will most likely not be allowed to participate in the elections for the governor of Sevastopol
Former People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Party of Regions, Vadim Kolesnichenko, most likely will not be registered as a candidate in the elections for the governor of Sevastopol, which are scheduled for September.

The formal reason for refusal of registration will most likely be that Kolesnichenko collected the signatures of municipal deputies in only 7 out of 10 municipalities, while the local law requires that there be 8 of them.
The real reason, say ill-wishers, is the personal instruction of the acting governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov, nominated from United Russia. Allegedly, he regards Kolesnichenko as a real competitor.
Again, according to rumors, Ukrainian politicians in exile intend to sponsor the former Verkhovna Rada deputy, whose property interests in Sevastopol were not fully taken into account by the Russian authorities.
Last week, the acting governor denied the slander of his opponents that he forced all municipal deputies from United Russia, which is 80% of the total, to sign for his candidacy in order to thus remove all competitors. He submitted only 13 signatures to the election commission, that is, one more than the number established by law.
