Former NATO Secretary General Andres Fogh Rasmussen stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time”, according to whom NATO is a much more effective instrument than the UN.

“It was NATO that intervened in Libya, which was quite unexpected,” Rasmussen said. – The UN Security Council adopted a resolution on its responsibility for the security of the Libyan people. However, on the initiative of NATO member countries, it was the North Atlantic Alliance that took upon itself all the responsibilities for organizing a military operation on behalf of the UN. In my opinion, this format can be used in the future.”

Let us recall that after Western intervention in the Libyan conflict and the overthrow of Gaddafi, Libya was de facto fragmented into several parts, constantly fighting with each other.
