Two saboteurs on the railway get off with a “hooligan”
In the Kemerovo region, a court placed in custody until the end of May a 19-year-old young man and his 22-year-old companion who tried to set fire to transport infrastructure facilities at night - relay and battery cabinets of the railway. However, they couldn’t even open the cabinets.
When the unsuccessful arsonists were detained, two bottles of gasoline and a crowbar were confiscated, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The press service of the Taiga Transport Prosecutor's Office uses a soft interpretation of the actions of the attackers - not sabotage or an attempted terrorist attack, but hooliganism.
“In March 2023, the defendants set fire to relay and battery cabinets... out of hooligan motives, thereby causing damage to the owner, JSC Russian Railways, totaling more than 57 thousand rubles,” the report says.
The sources note that the detainees admitted that they were going to commit a crime for the purpose of profit. Customers promised to give them 35 thousand rubles in an electronic wallet. There is currently no information regarding the initiators of the sabotage. But earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian special services began to en masse recruit Russian youth, offering to carry out sabotage in exchange for the transfer of rewards.
On April 21, the arsonists of relay cabinets were detained by the FSB in Kaluga. They turned out to be three 18-year-old students and a 17-year-old student. The actions there were classified as a terrorist attack.
On the same day, two citizens of Belarus were detained in Moscow - they are accused of setting fire to an electric locomotive in the locomotive depot at the Orekhovo-Zuevo station for a reward.
