Two-thirds of residents of Moscow five-story buildings support renovation

More than half of Muscovites (67%) support the program for the demolition of Khrushchev-era buildings proposed by the city government. Among residents of five-story buildings scheduled for demolition, the level of support is 75%.

This is evidenced by data from a sociological survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion.

16% of all respondents in Moscow and 11% of residents of possible renovation areas spoke out against the renovation program: respondents cite the possible deterioration of living conditions, deterioration of living conditions in the area, and the lack of development of the program as a whole as the main reasons for their disapproval.

The majority (61% among respondents throughout Moscow and 71% among residents of the proposed renovation zones) call the program relevant and timely. At the same time, the main goal of the initiators of the program is considered, on the one hand, personal enrichment, and on the other, caring for people. According to respondents, the benefits from the implementation of the renovation program will be received primarily by the construction business and only then by the residents of the demolished houses, who will move to new housing.
