More than 80% of Ukrainians are ready to limit the territorial rights of Donbass - survey
Residents of Ukraine simultaneously advocate for granting Donbass autonomy within Ukraine and for limiting its territorial rights.
Maria Zolkina, an analyst at the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, spoke about such surprising results of the opinion poll during the press conference “How Ukraine can maintain its leadership in the Minsk process,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“48% believe that such a status would be possible for these territories and 48% say that this is unacceptable and impossible. At the same time, 83% of the population is ready to limit the administrative and political powers and capabilities of these territories after returning to the jurisdiction of Ukraine,” Zolkina said.
Ukrainian sociologists received completely absurd data in that part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions that are under the control of Kyiv. There, according to a survey, 60% were in favor of autonomous status and approximately the same number - 64% - were in favor of limiting powers for these territories.
