America will fight Russia in Donbass at the hands of Ukrainians
Kyiv, January 31 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The United States will not take direct part in the armed conflict in Donbass, but intends to expand assistance to Ukraine in the supply of military equipment, weapons and consultations with NATO specialists.
US Ambassador to Kiev Geoffrey Pyatt stated this in an interview with the Zerkalo Nedeli newspaper.

“Looking at the prospects for the coming year, a lot of effort will be focused not on material assistance with equipment, but on assistance, so to speak, with “software.” We have already purchased armored vehicles, night vision devices, radar systems, and encrypted radio communications equipment. Now we consider the most important assistance in the training and retraining of Ukrainian military units, and their acquisition of new skills. We will begin the corresponding program in March. I think that these programs will grow greatly and take on large scales in order to build what President Poroshenko wants. Namely, an army that meets NATO standards,” the diplomat said.
“At the front, Ukrainian military formations demonstrated examples of colossal courage. They showed that they will not be intimidated. But if Russia does what it did in August, sending large armed formations across the border, then it will be impossible to stop them. Therefore, we need to fight together, using all means to help you protect your territory,” Payette added.
“Ukraine cannot win a war with Russia with the help of the army. You must win with your political and economic power. We are very serious about helping you defend your sovereign territory. We do this through billions of dollars in economic assistance and loan guarantees,” the ambassador recalled.
