Why us? American newspapers are surprised by Moscow's decision to recall its ambassador
The American press at first did not pay attention to the US President's attack against Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“American foreign policy is, of course, a mirror of domestic policy, and now deep discord reigns there, the fashion is to brand rivals with the last words instead of solving real problems. Likewise, the American press and experts today evaluate foreign policy not by content, but by the harshness of public statements. It is also characteristic that the American press at first did not pay attention to Biden’s offensive attacks against the Russian leader, and then was very surprised by Moscow’s decision to invite its ambassador to consultations because of them,” the article notes.
This surprise, the publication believes, is a direct consequence of two parallel processes.
“On the one hand, after the failed “reset,” Washington gradually reduced the real content of the bilateral dialogue with Moscow to zero, and after Donald Trump’s victory in the elections in 2016, the establishment turned this dialogue into a bargaining chip in domestic political squabbles. As a result, apparently, American politicians are so confident that there is nothing to lose in bilateral relations that even previously unthinkable attacks against Russia today do not shock anyone,” the newspaper writes.
In turn, American University history professor Peter Kuznik believes that the United States and Russia are facing the threat of a political conflict escalating into a military one.
“The situation in the world was dangerous even before this quarrel, because both sides are modernizing nuclear arsenals, and senior military officials in the United States are warning about the growing threat of nuclear war with Russia and China,” says the American expert.
According to him, Biden’s attack and the subsequent recall of the Russian ambassador from the United States “only makes these threats more and more real and tangible.”
As PolitNavigator reported, the US President called Russian leader Vladimir Putin a "killer."
Following this, Moscow recalled its ambassador from Washington.
