This is how Ukrainian nationalists wearing OUN chevrons, who attacked activists of the "Ukrainian Choice" movement today at Glory Square in Kyiv and tried to take their red flags , explained their actions.

When a PolitNavigator correspondent approached the scene of the incident, the fight had already ended, and OUN militants, surrounded by police, were trampling on the red flag.

“What are you saying, who did we break here? - said the nationalists. – They only broke a couple of flags, which symbolize atheism and enemy banditry. The top of the Communist Party were 99 percent prisoners. Don’t you understand this?”

In response, one of the law enforcement officers said that he was not arguing about the essence of ideology, but was trying to prevent fights.

“We didn’t turn Ukraine upside down so that history would be explained to us,” the OUN members retorted. “There should be one story – pro-Ukrainian.”
