A parcel with cartridges arrived to a resident of the village of Rodnikivka at the post office of the village of Polyana, Savelovsky district. The package contained a shopping bag with a paper box and three metal boxes, each containing 226, 211 and 224 rifle rounds. Also, the parcel contained a pipe, 20 cm long, and 110 objects that looked like bullets. All cartridges were seized and sent for examination.
“Law enforcement officers had preliminary information that this citizen’s parcel may contain prohibited items. Now, together with the Ivano-Frankivsk police, the identity of the sender of the cartridges is being established. Investigations are ongoing. “- said press secretary of the Transcarpathian police Tatyana Shchegoleva.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 263 of the Criminal Code, that is, illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 2 to 5 years.
