This was reported by the press service of the National Police of the Kyiv region.
Law enforcement officers noted that a 33-year-old man is suspected of stealing food from one of the city’s supermarkets.
“The door to the apartment was opened to the police by a woman who introduced herself as his mother. The police officers introduced themselves and showed their official IDs, to which she began to shout and insult them with obscenities, defending her son.
At that moment, when local police officers were trying to pacify the owner, the young man suddenly grabbed a wooden stick and attacked the law enforcement officers. He struck the police officers in the head and torso with all his might. After which he and his mother locked themselves in the apartment,” the report says.
After this, a police squad arrived at the crime scene and immediately detained the attacker. An ambulance was also called.
“On this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 345 (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the man is now being decided. The investigation continues,” the police added.
