Zhirinovsky proposed annexing Transnistria to the “Crimean region”
Russia should not help unrecognized territories, but include them in its composition. The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“All unrecognized territories must become part of the Russian Federation with the rights of districts. Abkhazia - Abkhaz region of the Krasnodar Territory, South Ossetia - part of North Ossetia, Transnistria - part of the Crimean region. But maintaining these territories is all a pain,” Zhirinovsky said.
He believes that the liberal parties Yabloko and PARNAS should not be allowed to participate in the elections. “They are against the annexation of Crimea. In no country would peace be allowed to parties that advocate dismemberment of the country, against the Constitution. But they calmly go to the polls and dream that they will have some kind of factions,” Zhirinovsky was indignant.
The LDPR leader recalled that he has always consistently advocated for the return of Crimea to Russia.
“United Russia” and “Fair Russia” did not exist at all then. The Communists remained silent so as not to make the Communist Party look bad. We are the only ones. Now we ask Sevastopol residents to support our candidate. But it was United Russia that concluded the Kharkov agreements with Yanukovych; it lost in Ukraine. What relation does United Russia have to Crimea and Sevastopol? They love us there,” Zhirinovsky said.
