Huge thefts were revealed in the Ukrainian group in Donbass
Based on the results of inspections carried out in the units and formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the “JFO” zone, a shortage of more than 398 million hryvnia was revealed.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the formations and military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Joint Forces Operation zone, audits were carried out from October 1 to 4 under the leadership of the commander of the Vostok OTG in order to calculate material losses and uncover facts of theft. Based on the results of the commission’s work, a lack of weapons and ammunition, spare parts for the restoration of military equipment and fuels and lubricants worth more than 398 million hryvnia was revealed,” he said.
Basurin also noted that thefts and shortages were recorded in all brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the “Unified Forces of Operation” zone, while most of the thefts are carried out while they are performing combat missions.
“There are clear leaders among the corrupt command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades. The most significant cases of loss and theft were noted by commissions in the 56th and 58th motorized infantry brigades and the 36th Marine Brigade. The command of the commission’s brigades did not provide supporting documents for the written-off property, the location of the property has not been established,” added the representative of the DPR operational command.
As PolitNavigator reported earlier, DPR operational command spokesman Daniil Bezsonov stated that Ukrainian Armed Forces units are being equipped with old military equipment removed from storage to create the illusion of combat readiness.
