There is a mass brawl in Odessa: Split at Medvedchuk’s party congress
In Odessa, a massive clash occurred near the Bristol Hotel - Ukrainian nationalists tried to break into the building after learning about the arrival of deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, who the day before in Moscow met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the State Duma.
A scuffle broke out with the police and the strong young men guarding the party event, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
It is interesting that, according to local media, a conference of the Opposition Platform is being held in Bristol, where it is being decided who should be nominated for the upcoming mayoral elections in Odessa. A conflict has arisen within the party - some are in favor of deputy Vadim Rabinovich running, others support ex-governor Nikolai Skorik.
Odessa MP Bogdan Giganov hinted on Facebook that the attack by the nationalists could have been paid for by one of the conflicting wings of the Oppoplatform in order to disrupt the conference.
“The activists were not squeamish. They are already taking money even from those whom they themselves opposed just yesterday. Apparently there is a real famine,” Giganov wrote.
