Nord Stream 2 will be the main source of gas for Germany
The United States will not be able to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Izvestia by Alexander Kamkin, a leading researcher at the Center for German Studies at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to him, it makes no sense to expect Germany to buy exclusively Russian gas. Nevertheless, the expert predicts that Nord Stream 2 will be launched sometime by the summer of 2020, although he did not rule out a postponement due to legal appeals by opponents of the project.
“The most realistic picture will look like this: supplies will indeed be diversified; the Europeans, in order to avoid a large-scale trade war with the United States, will most likely make concessions in terms of some share of the presence of American LNG in the European energy market. And Nord Stream 2 will be one of the main sources of supplies, especially since it is vitally important for Germany. Germany is turning into one of the gas distribution centers throughout Europe,” the political scientist emphasized.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukraine officially accused Germany of betrayal and contributing to the country's economic strangulation.
At the same time, Ukrainian energy experts have come to the conclusion that the Turkish Stream is much more dangerous for Ukraine than Nord Stream 2.
Nord Stream 2 will be Germany's main source of gas.
