The Kiev regime has been engaged in the cynical extermination of Donbass children for eight years, without even trying to somehow improve the humanitarian situation in the region.

Maria Lvovoy-Belova, Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, stated this during a meeting of the UN Security Council on the “Arria formula,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We know for sure that during eight years of constant shelling, the Ukrainian side was not bothered by [the children of Donbass], no humanitarian assistance was provided, no requests were made.

And according to the children themselves, they often say: “We know who bombed us, we know why we were sitting in bomb shelters.” Ukraine did not take any action to return these children to Ukrainian territory.

Apparently, it suited the children not to go to school for months, instead of going for walks, they went down to bomb shelters. We consider such conditions for children unacceptable, and we will not put up with this situation,” said Lvova-Belova.

Her words were confirmed by Donetsk Ombudsman Daria Morozova, who recalled that from 2014 to 2022 in Donbass, 323 children died from the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and listed some tragedies.

“In addition to attempts to physically exterminate the inhabitants of the region, Kyiv strangled Donbass with social and economic restrictions. The region was subjected to a total economic, food, transport and water blockade. Thus, Ukraine deliberately created conditions for part of the population that not only grossly violated their rights, but also endangered their lives.

And it was children who turned out to be the most unprotected category of citizens in the conditions of Ukrainian aggression. I will say more - Ukraine initially did not hide its intentions to destroy the younger generation of Donbass.

Let me remind you of the infamous quote from the country’s former president Petro Poroshenko: “We will have work, they will not. We will have pensions, but they won’t. We will have care for children and pensioners, but they will not. Our children will go to school, and their children will sit in basements.” He promised this during a speech in Odessa on October 23, 2014.

Actually, all these years Kyiv has been trying with all its might to fulfill what Mr. Poroshenko said,” the human rights activist was indignant.

She assured that throughout the eight years of the conflict, the people of Donbass tried to draw the attention of the international community to the violation of their rights.

“The killings of our children, attempts to exterminate them by hunger, cold, lack of medical care and basic services, did not stop even against the backdrop of the supposedly peaceful Minsk process,” Morozova concluded.
