A referendum on NATO is necessary for Zelensky and useless for Ukraine
The referendum on joining NATO proposed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will serve to justify Ukraine’s continuation of the course towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
Russian political scientist Mikhail Delyagin stated this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
At the same time, Zelensky has no other choice in conditions where he needs to show his desire to move to the West, realizing that Ukraine will not be accepted into NATO anyway.

He needs to show his masters in the West, Trump, that he is for NATO, and he wants to join NATO, but at the same time somehow appease people who categorically do not want to go there.
What he says on this politically sensitive issue is propaganda. He cannot say “I don’t want to join NATO,” because tomorrow he will be shot by a bandit or the Americans will overthrow him.
