Putin did not rule out further repatriation of Crimean Tatars from Central Asia
Russia will be ready to accept representatives of repressed peoples in Crimea, but so far funds from the budget have been allocated only for those who already live on the peninsula. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today, speaking to activists of the Crimean ONF in the village of Ponizovka.

“We would like to tell anyone who would like to come that we will first help those who already live here. Then we can do something else. We want to do this,” Putin said.
The President recalled that 10 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for the rehabilitation of peoples who suffered during repressions.
“They allocated it for the number of people who now live here. I hope that all the decisions that have been made will not remain on paper, but will be implemented. This is a very important moral and political component of our work. We will definitely hold events related to socio-economic issues. The villages of the Crimean Tatars are in a sad state. Some do not have electricity or basic social amenities,” Putin said.
One of the ONF activists, a Crimean Tatar by nationality, invited the president to the spring fertility festival Khydyrlez, which is an analogue of Sabantuy in Tatarstan.
“If you say “Sabantuy” anywhere in Russia, everyone will understand that it is a holiday. Hydyrlez is not yet so widely known. I hope that this holiday will become the heritage of the culture of all peoples of Russia. Thank you for the invitation,” Putin said.
