Poroshenko signed a decree introducing martial law
Russia may provoke Ukraine into imposing martial law. Former Ukrainian Defense Minister and former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Yevhen Marchuk, stated this at the "Ukrainian Defense and Security Forum '17," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There was criticism in society that martial law was not introduced. It is clear that the introduction of martial law is an acute and complex procedure, but we remember that President Poroshenko, when this criticism was voiced, said that there is a law and the decree was signed by him. But we know that it begins to act only after it is adopted by the Verkhovna Rada. That is, it is publicly known that a decree has been signed in Ukraine on the possibility of introducing a legal regime of martial law. The president said this not only in connection with criticism of him, but also when there was a very acute situation at the front,” Marchuk said.
“In this regard, already knowing a lot about what and how Russia is doing, not only in the direct military sense, but also with other technologies, it is absolutely not excluded that Russia can provoke Ukraine. And the decision to introduce martial law, perhaps not throughout the entire territory, would be correct. Russia can do this based on the logic of its previous behavior, no matter how incredible it may seem,” says Marchuk.
