The Luhansk and Donetsk Republics' announced assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including those living in cities occupied by the Ukrainian army , is evidence that the LPR and DPR consider the entire Donbas territory to be theirs.

“This is, of course, a positive initiative, which once again proves that for representatives of the DPR and LPR there are no strangers on the territory of Donbass. Such an initiative shows that no one is going to leave these people to their fate.
We understand perfectly well that this is a significant financial injection for young republics, but, nevertheless, the leaders of the republics find an opportunity. But on the Ukrainian side we see the opposite situation. There, on the contrary, they find a reason why it is necessary to stop all payments to residents of Donetsk and Lugansk.
This is the fundamental difference between the leaders of the republics and Kyiv,” Denisov said.
