The cessation of air traffic with Belarus due to the emergency landing of a Ryanair flight and the detention of the founder of the NEXTA telegram channel, extremist Roman Protasevich, will economically hit the initiators of this initiative.
Participants in the broadcast of the Russia 1 TV channel spoke about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Before closing the airspace of Belarus, the Baltics need to look at the map. And they will see that, for example, air travel to Ukraine will cost three times more. How will Ukraine fly, for example, to the Baltic states when they close Belarus? The only way is through the Russian Federation, and there are no air connections with the Russian Federation. Making detours through Poland? What if suddenly, God forbid, someone thinks of flying “there”, in the other direction? That is, the result will be a situation from which it will be impossible to get out of normally, and this will affect people, first of all,” said Russian political scientist Dmitry Abzalov.
In turn, Kommersant columnist Alexei Naumov, without denying that such a plane landing has not been a precedent for a long time, began to argue that President of Belarus Lukashenko should not have made such decisions on his own.
“He is on a powerful drug called “Russian money”, he is ready to do things and shift the responsibility onto us. Because if the sky is closed over Belarus, the budget will not receive enough money, who will it go to for a loan?” – the expert asked rhetorically.
"To us. And we will save him, and we will save him from military invasion. It's like a farm fun computer game where you have endless money. In the end, we will have to pay money, compensate for the losses of Belarus, we will defend it - for what? So that now they can land planes everywhere? So that he could behave like a madman with his political opponents? As a person who is ready for anything, because he has a code for endless money in this game,” added Naumov.
