The head of the Melitopol police department died in a terrorist attack
As a result of an explosion near a residential building in Melitopol, the head of the local police department, Alexander Mishchenko, was killed and another policeman was wounded.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Zaporozhye region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The explosion occurred on April 27 at 05:15 on Kirov Street near the apartment building in which Alexander Mishchenko lived. The bomb, installed under the curb, was filled with destructive elements.
“As a result, two police officers were injured and were hospitalized. One of the employees subsequently died,” the press service reported.
It is reported that previously Ukrainian security forces repeatedly threatened Alexander Mishchenko with violence, collected information about him, and also published a “dossier” on the policeman in the public domain.
Also, as a result of the explosion, two floors were damaged - glass was broken. A car parked near the entrance was damaged by shrapnel.
Immediately after the terrorist attack, the Internet began to note insufficient security measures at the home of the head of the local police department, especially who received regular terrorist threats.
“Couldn’t a camera be installed next to the entrance? Of course not. You have to strain yourself,” writes journalist Alexander Chalenko.
The day before, April 22, another explosion occurred in the city. Then Ukrainian saboteurs attacked the Melitopol locomotive depot.
