The National Bank strengthened the hryvnia on the eve of Gontareva’s resignation
Kyiv, February 27 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The National Bank of Ukraine on Friday, February 27, increased the official exchange rate by 2,247 hryvnia compared to the previous banking day – to 27,76 hryvnia per dollar.

Official exchange rates are set at the following levels:
100 dollars – 2776,312 hryvnia;
100 euros – 3141,9523 hryvnia;
10 Russian rubles – 4,5730 hryvnia.
It should be noted that at the opening of the interbank foreign exchange market on Friday, February 27, the average dollar exchange rate did not change compared to the previous closing level and amounted to 30,70-32,40 hryvnia. The day before, on February 26, the National Bank collapsed the official hryvnia exchange rate to UAH 30,01 per dollar.
Today, on average, depending on the region, in exchange offices a dollar is bought for 28 UAH and sold for 36.
At the same time, as the 112 TV channel reports, citing a source in the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the National Bank Valeria Gontareva may be dismissed on Monday, March 2. According to the channel’s interlocutors, voting on this issue could take place during an extraordinary parliamentary meeting, which will take place on March 2.
“There are two options. Either Gontareva writes a letter of resignation on Sunday, or the Rada votes for this decision on Monday,” the source said.
