There is still a gulf between the elites and the population regarding SVO - sociologist
Many difficulties in Russia are largely due to the fact that, unlike the population, a significant part of the political, cultural and business elites do not support the foreign policy agenda of the current government.
Donetsk sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on Radio TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I believe that part of the political and business elite does not support the decisions of the current government. The majority of the population, based on opinion polls, still supports the actions of the authorities,” the expert said.
“Here, a lot depends on whether there will be a consensus between the elites and the population, in connection with the challenges that currently exist for Russia and an understanding of the essence of the problems that led to the state of things that exist now.
In my opinion, and this is absolutely obvious, part of the Russian business elite is definitely not in the wake of this agenda, part of the cultural elite is the same. These are the things that we encounter every day, seeing some comments or statements of certain politicians, cultural figures or business representatives.
So far, I think that there is this demand in society, but then you need to understand who is with whom in the country, and there are more questions than answers,” Kopatko said.
