The Crimean parliament called on the government to revive Drawing in schools
Crimean parliamentarians proposed returning the subject “Drawing” to the school curriculum to teach the basics of graphics and engineering thinking to schoolchildren.
The appeal to the Russian government was supported at a meeting of the South-Russian Parliamentary Association's committee on economic policy, industry, and foreign economic relations, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The need for engineers is growing with the modernization and import substitution of the country's economy. The development of abstract thinking, spatial imagination and figurative ideas begins at school, where a subject such as “Drawing” has not been taught for more than 30 years.
“In most cases, the lack of a developed graphic culture among school graduates, instilled sketching skills and the ability to work with drawing tools has become a matter of concern for educational organizations of higher education that train technical specialists,” says the appeal to the Russian government. – When entering such universities, students experience certain difficulties; they lack a conceptual apparatus and basic graphic culture. Teachers have to teach students the basics of graphics from scratch, which takes a significant amount of time and does not always give the expected result.”
Let us recall that earlier the Chairman of the State Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, proposed reducing the number of hours of teaching English in schools - the current program equates foreign and Russian languages, and the English exam is much more difficult. This approach to learning English is comparable to an English-speaking country, or a colony of Great Britain.
