The ship accompanying the Russian aircraft carrier saved Ukrainian fishermen

The large anti-submarine ship of the Northern Fleet "Vice Admiral Kulakov", which is part of the escort group of the Russian aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov", provided assistance to a Ukrainian fishing vessel that lost speed in the Mediterranean Sea.

This was reported by the Central Naval Portal.

As the Ministry of Defense clarified, the signal arrived at 08:20 Moscow time, and at 09:45 the ship approached the Ukrainian ship and began providing assistance.

After losing steam, the Ukrainian ship was drifting for two days. The rescue operation was complicated by force 4 seas, squally winds and thunderstorms.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian sailors are currently determining whether it is necessary to evacuate the crew of the Ukrainian ship. They will also assess whether the vessel can be restored to speed or whether it will require towing to the nearest seaport.
