"Who are we kidding?": NATO can only cover 5% of its territory - Colonel MacGregor
If Europeans want to know what will happen to their countries if Russia attacks, they can just look at Ukraine. NATO does not have the strength to protect European states, and its air defense covers no more than 5% of the alliance's territory.
Retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor, a planner for several US military campaigns, stated this on the Deep Dive video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" If anyone wants to know what Europe would look like if the Russians decided to attack, let them look at Ukraine. Because we in NATO don't have that kind of air and missile defense; we can protect, at most, 5% of our territory. Who are we kidding?
"We'll be defenseless against all these missiles and bombs. So, look at what the Russians are doing – it doesn't take much imagination to figure out what will happen to Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Germany ," MacGregor concluded.
