The Kiev concept “Get a view of Moscow” was a fiasco
In recent years, apart from loud slogans, Kyiv has done nothing to diversify its energy sources.
The ex-mayor of the Ukrainian city of Rava-Russkaya, bordering Poland with Poland, and now an expert on international issues, Irina Vereshchuk, stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The concept of “away from Moscow” did not work because over the years we have done absolutely nothing to diversify sources of energy supply, including resolving the gas issue. We could do this with Azerbaijan, with Saudi Arabia, we could do a lot of things, unfortunately, we could.
Today we have reached the critical point when the contract with the Russian Federation ends in 2019, and we do not have a single negotiating position that would be advantageous for us. We saw that all previous rounds of negotiations ended in nothing, the Russian side got up and left, knowing full well that today we are in the position of a listener,” Vereshchuk said.
