Maidan artists are saddened by the personnel appointments of the new government

Kyiv, December 29 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Representatives of the creative community of Ukraine were disappointed by the appointment of Vyacheslav Kirilenko to the post of Minister of Culture, who relies on old-fashioned nationalist dogmas.

This opinion, in particular, was voiced by the Ukrainian artist Alexander Roitburd, who supported Maidan, and was quoted by the Kraina weekly.

“The greatest disappointment of 2014 was the appointment of Vyacheslav Kirilenko to the post of Minister of Culture,” says the artist. – Firstly, he holds this position part-time and he has 20 more areas for which he is responsible. Secondly, Kirilenko embodies a politicized and ideological approach to culture. It is based on the old-fashioned dogma of 2025th century nationalism.
