“Guest performer” and “separatist”: Saakashvili and Goncharenko “clashed” on air at Shuster’s
The deputy head of the presidential faction in parliament, Odessa resident Alexey Goncharenko, started a skirmish with the ex-governor of the Odessa region Mikheil Saakashvili live on the talk show “Shuster. LIVE."

The conflict occurred after Saakashvili once again accused President Petro Poroshenko and his associates of corruption. Goncharenko came to the studio with a sign that said “I don’t believe it” and declared that Saakashvili’s speech was pretentious.
“What I still needed was for Goncharenko to believe me. Do they even believe in anything? This man was the leader of the separatist faction under Yanukovych in Odessa. It was called “For Yanukovych! For Odessa." This was a faction within the Party of Regions. For Yanukovych and for Odessa. That is, Odessa is still separate. It was still a theory then. Yes, let Yanukovych exist, but Odessa will be separate from Ukraine. He believed it then. He ran, campaigned for Russia, believed in it! He campaigned for Poroshenko and believed in it. Tomorrow Poroshenko will not be there, he will speak and say: “I am the first to criticize him.” He believes in it,” Saakashvili recalled the “dark past” of Goncharenko, who during his short political career changed several parties with different ideological platforms.
Talk show host Savik Shuster was clearly playing along on Saakashvili’s side. A video was shown on air that talked about the reforms carried out by the former Georgian president in the Odessa region, who criticized Goncharenko:
“I showed my attitude to that speech, to this cheap one-man theater, to this political tent, which was in Odessa and has now moved on tour to Kyiv. I expressed my opinion, then you listened to a stream of insults. My next question is: will I have the opportunity to speak out or not? I see that Mikhail is here with the clips. There is probably a movie about him. Now the dance will begin."
“Alexey, I will kick you out of the studio, because you are not the one running this program,” Shuster interrupted him.
- Well, let's listen only to Mikhail and his friends. Let’s have two points of view here,” Goncharenko retorted.
– You will explain to me how many points of view there will be. Will you tell me how to make the program? Was there a 50 thousand dollar kickback? What Mikheil Saakashvili was talking about happened before him, from every ship?” Shuster retorted.
- So with him everything is the same, but Mikhail lived and tells, look at their terrible declarations, look at his video with the Hablo watch, he also loves luxury with us. Look where he lived in Odessa,” Goncharenko said.
After this, Saakashvili accused Goncharenko of embezzling budget funds and appropriating the state presidential residence in Odessa.
“When we say that there are hucksters in parliament, this is a huckster who takes public wealth, in particular, a water supply contract, and puts it in his pocket. In particular, a specific residence, which was state-owned, was taken almost free of charge and they will resell it for 10-15 million. This is the huckster who got into parliament. They were selling places on the list, which is why I refused to head Poroshenko’s list. Each region has its own such hucksters. And while they sit in the parliament of Ukraine, nothing will happen in the country. Therefore, we must get rid of them,” Saakashvili said.
In response to this, Goncharenko “poured” another portion of dirt on the ex-governor, emphasizing that the “reformer” wanders from country to country, leaving no visible results after his work.
“I was born here, I live in Odessa. My grandmother, who is 90 years old, and my son, who is 10 years old, live there. When Mikhail arrived, I lived in Odessa. And I grabbed so much that when I came to parliament, I lived in an ordinary apartment building in an ordinary apartment, and I still live there. And not in gloomy residences, as he says. So, he left, and I stayed. This is an ordinary tourer. Does he have a wife and children living in Ukraine? He has no one here. When he's done, he'll grab his toothbrush, put on his Rolex and Hublo watch, and head off to another country. And there will be a story told in the style of Ostap Bender,” Goncharenko got excited.
After Shuster interrupted him once again, Goncharenko was indignant that he had been invited in vain. And Shuster countered, saying that no one invited him, but Goncharenko was delegated to the Presidential Administration.
